Representatives of the indigenous people of Sami, which took part in the sixth session of the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples at UN.

When participating in this event, Executive Director of AKORNLV did report,in which it was stated (at the international level - UN) about the existence of the Russian-language indigenous people, which more than 300 years inhabiting the territory of present Latvia, on official, legitimate, internationally - established grounds. By this (according to ILO Convention 169 / UN, Section 1, Article 1, Paragraph 2) was completed the second international, a fundamental criterion that defines the Russian-language indigenous people, inhabiting the territory of present Latvia.
